Borderlands 2 is finally out!

Finally! Borderlands 2 was released yesterday, and while I don’t get my copy until this weekend when I go to LA (It’s not available in Costa Rica, and will cost double when it is) — but I am having a blast watching walkthroughs (embedded in full post) and spoiling the entire beginning of the game for myself. 😉

If you haven’t purchased the game yet, please do a good thing for both of us and buy it through these links:

While writing this post, I found that you can win a copy of Borderlands 2, and Spec Ops: The Line at Gadget Review..

Speaking of reviews, so far Borderlands 2 is getting spectacular reviews from critics and players, hats off to Gearbox and Randy Pitchford‘s crew. Here’s a quick round-up of how the game is doing critically and with players:

Borderlands 2 has managed to reach a very high Metascore of 90 on Metacritic, which is not an easy task, and a crucial component to how the product succeeds or fails, as has been seen by Funcom’s The Secret World.

Three other publications have given the game a score of 100, The Guardian, G4 TV, and Big Pond Game Arena, while Game Informer gave it a score of 98. Almost every other media outlet has given it a score of 90 or above, and I can’t possibly link to them all, but you will find those reviews in the Metacritic link above.

Gamespot has given Borderlands 2 an 8.5, their takeaway is: “Stellar writing and a host of small improvements help Borderlands 2 stand tall on the shoulders of its predecessor.”
If you’re getting stuck in Borderlands 2 and don’t feel like searching the internet mid-game, or just like having your girlfriend or room-mate co-pilot your travels throughout Pandora, here are some Brady Game Guides to help you out (and a coffee table book of the art of B2.)

And there are no walkthroughs available yet on GameFAQs, but there are some ‘Cheats’ going up already.

And youtube is saturated with playthroughs just 24 hours later, so I am just going to embed a couple of my favorite playlists below. Both only have a couple videos so far, as the game just came out, but both channels are prolific and will no doubt add hundreds more over the coming weeks, so check back on the playlists often!

Of course first comes TheRadBrad’s Walkthrough, he’s one of my favorites out of everyone online:

And the ever-hilarious clan of The Media Cows is actually doing a 4Cast, in which they play all 4 character cooperatively with commentary from all, definitely funny and worth a watch.
